Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Editions and SteelBook Edition Prices
Every edition compared: standard, SteelBook, Digital Deluxe, Season Pass and Switch 2 Upgrade Pack, plus three purchasing traps to avoid.
The SteelBook Edition is three things: the standard game, a SteelBook, and a slipcover.
It is available on Switch, Switch 2, and PS5.
There is no Steam version.
If you want a physical metal case without paying $274.99 for the collector set, this is the official middle tier.

Prices come from the official product page and two GungHo announcements. The Switch and Switch 2 prices were cross-checked against the Nintendo Store listings.
Three traps to avoid
One: there is no Digital Deluxe on Switch 2.
The official product page says so directly, and recommends that Switch 2 players buy “Digital Deluxe Edition plus Upgrade Pack.”
Check what Nintendo eShop actually lists before you buy. The Upgrade Pack’s official description is for upgrading a Switch 1 copy, which is a Switch 1 owner’s path.

Two: Digital Deluxe and “standard plus a separate Season Pass” are the same thing.
The publisher states that Season Pass content also goes on sale as standard DLC. Steam’s store page even warns about buying the base game and DLC separately by mistake.
So $79.99 and $59.99 + $24.99 get you identical content.
Three: the Season Pass is cosmetic only.
The official product page describes cosmetic DLC: costumes, attachments, and similar. Extra DLC and consumable sets are not included.
Each piece releases on its own standard DLC date.
Pick by what you want
Base game only goes to the standard edition at $59.99.
Portable, and you want a cartridge goes to the Switch 2 Edition at $64.99. That card also runs in a Switch 1.
Every cosmetic DLC goes to Digital Deluxe at $79.99. If you already own the base game, adding the $24.99 Season Pass gets you there.
A physical collection goes to the SteelBook Edition, or the Golden Wings Edition if you want the diorama and artbook too.
Bought on Switch 1 and moved to Switch 2 goes to the $4.99 Upgrade Pack.
What the publisher has not given
There is no single official retail price for the SteelBook Edition. It varies by retailer, and this site will not quote an unverified number.
The Golden Wings Edition preorder window closed on March 8. It is not currently available, and no restock has been announced.
